Fitness for Seniors
We all know that regular exercise is important, but sometimes we don't realize that it gets even more important as we age. As we age, we often get to a point where it just causes pain to regularly work out, so we will just stop altogether. Oftentimes though, it's not the exercise as a whole causing pain, it's the types of exercises we do. At Avamere Heritage Rehab of Tacoma we know the types of exercise that would really help you, and we stick to those.
For all of our long-term care residents, we offer personal senior fitness programs. This means that each senior staying with us will be provided with a program that will help get them, individually, back to the comfort that they had before.
Those residents that are with us for only a short time through our rehabilitation program are provided with more intensive workouts that will help heal and restore function after an injury or illness.
Walking, senior fitness classes, senior bodybuilding, chair exercises, stretching, yoga and more are offered in order to keep our residents healthy and independent for as long as they can be! Each exercise is specially designed to help seniors maintain function and stability in their day to day life!
