At Avamere Heritage Rehab of Tacoma we excel in making both short and long-term residents feel right at home. We have learned that seniors heal and recover faster when they have a social connectedness and are in a place where they can feel comfortable. By being a smaller, homelike community, we can offer this very important ingredient that new and repeat residents really respond to.

In fact, many former patients specifically ask to return when they need additional skilled nursing or rehab therapy, which reinforces the good care we provide here, as well as the important relationships that are developed.

Pets are frequent visitors at our facility. They accompany staff members to work and are regular visitors for our residents—plus, they are used in our innovative rehabilitation therapy program, which helps seniors get back living more independently.

Daily, our management team and staff live up to the Avamere Family of Companies overall mission, "to enhance the life of every person we serve" by treating everyone who walks through our doors with respect and kindness. Our job is to serve and we make sure everyone is comfortable whether they are existing residents, new short-term patients or friends and extended family.

I've been fortunate to serve in the senior care business for 30 years, six of which were with Avamere. Through my longevity, I've learned first-hand what works and what doesn't work—and Tacoma rehab is the culmination of this experience. As Administrator, I'm very hands-on, which helps me and my staff be more successful every day.
